IVY's "Business elites" at the game to show the world what they’ve got!

In the ASDAN business simulation held in Qingdao last Saturday, 8 lovely students from IVY has violently taken the championship from the competition among dozens of other school teams and has shone brightly from nearly 400 contestants.This is the first time ever that a non-Qingdao school has won the title of Qingdao ASDAN business simulation. IVY students have proven themselves with their skills. You are the best guys!

A competition between the "Business elites"

ASDAN business simulation is based on professional IT system, completely simulating and restoring the real environment and decision-making processes of market and company operations. The company that earns the most profit in three parts consisting of operations, trading and roadshow, is the winner. This is an all-English competition, which can exercise students' corporation management, team cooperation and economic analysis.

This year, the scale of the competition is unprecedented having teams from Chongqing, Fujian, Jiangsu, Jinan, Qingdao, Weifang, Shandong province, 48 teams in total consisting of nearly 400 players. IVY sent eight students to participate in this competition, which were: Betty, Jade, Sherlock, Angel, Cherry, Johnson, Morus and George. These brilliant students have studied business related subjects in our school and have a certain foundation in economics, so they all participated in this competition with full confidence and gave full plays to their respective abilities in the competition.

IVY's remarkable players began preparing for the competition productively before they left for Qingdao. The 8 partners divided their work and rehearsed their own responsible parts over and over again. In classrooms, they could often be seen discussing and working hard for the competition. When they arrived in Qingdao, they were still preparing for the match nervously. Everyone attached great importance to the game and did their best. IVY's little friends were full of confidence for this competition, because they have (actually no body) studied economics, business and accounting courses at IVY, and they have prepared enough so not to be defeated by any competitors in terms of knowledge.

On the field, they are invincible!

On December 1st, after the confident representatives entered and participated in the opening ceremony, the competition officially began. In the simulation, each "company" quickly entered the brain burning operation and decision-making state. Players on the field nervously anticipated the "fight" with passion. Some carefully analyzed the opponents’ business status, some worked seriously in the production of PPT, some worked with a calculator to calculate the data as fast as they can in the limited amount of time. Everyone pulled out all the stops to win. IVY's little friends ranked 15th in this part of the competition, which laid a good foundation for the following competitions.

This following project presentation is the highlight of ASDAN business simulation. The assigned product for this round was compebalance car, a popular young people's fashion electric vehicle.

During the product presentation, the contestants should express themselves in English, and they need to have a good English if they want to achieve excellent results in this part.Around this theme, our ingenious "designer" Sherlock colleague made a poster, in which the name of the product is called "Sleipnir", and the Logo is a galloping horse with eight legs.

Explained as: “Speed”, “Keeping pace with the pace of time”. In the PPT presentation, our lovely students clearly and comprehensively presented the company's customer group distribution, product features and advantages to the judges and competitors.In order to achieve high sales, IVY's small team worked together through various extraordinary measures. In this part, IVY's little friends successfully advanced to the 11th place. In order to win the game and become the final winner, IVY little group kept the fighting posture.

That following night was the trading auction, each of the members had 80,000 yuan for start-up capital, they then purchased a range of machines and materials to accumulate capital for their own company. These little friends in this condition has mustered all their strength to bidding, negotiation, and to let the company expand. Eventually the company has bought a house, which is a success because the main goal is to buy a house.

In the final round of project presentations and decisions, it was pretty clear that IVY has already controlled the situation and got the winning cards. Sleipnir's was operating in a virtuous circle, and the company was getting better and better. Our "small CEO" was also more confident. In the following project presentation, the contestants showed the company's business planning and sales plan, etc., so as to win more working capital for the company.

Glorifying championship earned after defeating dozens of school teams

After two rounds of project presentations and five rounds of operational decisions, the results for the competition have already been released. With the final core, Sleipnir has jumped to number one in funding and was superbly far ahead of number two! being labeled as “the best-performing of the 48 companies”. IVY's 8 classmates successfully won the gold award of the competition (which is the first prize), as well as the "best poster award" and "best enterprise award". Andy, our tutor, won the "excellent tutor" award. Congratulations! Hard work well paid!

This international competition not only examines the students' knowledge on business, but it also tests their their practical skills. Through this competition, students have strengthened their sense of teamwork, improved their ability to communicate and solve problems, and promoted their ability to make public speeches. In terms of discipline, students have improved their ability of learning and practicing market analysis. In addition, the winner of this competition can also enjoy the advantages of applying to British and American universities.
